Vladivostok International Airport has grandly greeted the first flight of the “Jeju Air” company from Seoul

Vladivostok, September 29, 2017. Vladivostok International Airport reports opening of a new regular flight to Seoul of “Jeju Air” company. The first flight of the new South Korean air carrier has been welcomed by a traditional water “arch”.

“Jeju Air” company has taken its first flight on the route “Seoul-Vladivostok”. Till the end of a summer schedule the Korean air company will take flights in Vladivostok 4 times a week by the aircraft Boeing 737-800 with a capacity of 189 passengers on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Since October up to 40 flights a week are going to be taken between Vladivostok and South Korea. A South Korean direction from the Far Eastern Federal District is maintained by 5 air companies. Over just 8 months of the current year air companies have flown 240 000 passengers in the South Korean direction, which is 36% more than over the same period last year.

Festive activities on the new flight opening started from honoring the passenger of the first flight and presentation of memorable souvenirs from the air company and the airport. The activities were continued at the fly ground where traditionally the first flight of the air company was welcomed by water “gates” at the airport.

After unloading of the first passengers arrived, there was held a ceremony of cutting a symbolic red ribbon in the passenger terminal. Managers of Vladivostok International Airport and “Jeju Air” representatives took part in the Flight Opening Ceremony. In the course of a small press conference the air company representatives answered journalists’ questions.

Igor Lukishin, CEO of Vladivostok International Airport:

- The popularity of Vladivostok among tourists of South Korea is growing. The appearance of a new carrier on the Korean direction is one more confirmation of dynamically developing trade-economic and tourist relations between Far Eastern region and Korea. We are glad to welcome a new partner within the framework of “open air” and hope for long-term cooperation
