Vladivostok International Airport and Yanji International Airport – sister airports

Vladivostok, November 01, 2018. - Vladivostok International Airport reports the signing of agreement on cooperation with Yanji International Airport of Jilin province (the PRC). This agreement will help to join efforts aimed at the development of air communication between two regions of Russia and China.

Yanji International Airport became the third sister airport of Vladivostok airport. Late October this year the agreement was signed in a solemn ceremony in the administration of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.

Today, Avrora airline makes flights to the Chinese city three times a week aboard Bombardier DHC 8-Q400. In the foreseeable future the airports will focus their joint efforts on making the flights daily and on launching of new flights to the Celestial Empire.

Let us recall that the sister-airport relations have already been established with the South Korean airport of Incheon – the world-largest airport and the leader in terms of passenger traffic and quality of passenger service. This year, another sister airport of Vladivostok airport became Phoenix Airport in Sanya city (Hainan province, the PRC). The relevant agreement on cooperation was signed by the airport executives in the course of the annual Global route development forum World Routes-2018.

Aleksandr Bobrov, Commercial Aviation Director of Vladivostok International Airport:

“Yanji city is the closest foreign airport in the Vladivostok destinations network and the administrative centre of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. We have established the year-round tourist exchange and close economic and cultural relations. I am sure that the agreement on cooperation will open new opportunities and increase the passenger flow from China.
