Vladivostok Airport welcomed Leo-craft

On March 03, 2017 a Rossiya Airlines airplane in leopard livery landed in Vladivostok International Airport. The representatives of the airport and the air carrier as well as the representatives of Land of the Leopard National Park and mainstream media of the Primorsky region welcomed the airplane on the apron.

Wide-body airliner Boeing 777-300 arrived to the capital of Primorye from Vnukovo airport. The aircraft with the image of a spotted predator on its nose was named “Ussuriisk” after Primorsky city Ussuriisk. It is fitting that arrival of the flight to the Primorsky region in a bright livery took place in the Year of Ecology announced in Russia.

- This is my first visit to the capital of Primorye, - flight passenger Anton Zavyalov shared his impressions – it became a pleasant surprise for me to find myself in such an unusual plane and land in Vladivostok in it. For me the Far East is synonymous with rare animals, beautiful nature, wildlife habitats. It is great that air companies are not indifferent to the problems of Amur leopards’ preservation.

The main idea of painting of leopard livery on the plane is to create awareness of the public for the problem of rare wildlife animals preservation. This project is implemented by the air carrier together with Far Eastern Leopards ANO.

The airplane with its original appearance will perform flights on the most requested routes to the cities of the Far East, on popular resort destinations both inside Russia and abroad.

We remind that Vladivostok airport actively supports environmental initiatives. The airport cooperates with Amur Tiger Center, Land of the Leopard, Nature Fund; it arranges subject-matter photo exhibitions on the terminal premises and takes part in social events.
