Vladivostok airport took part in World Routes 2016

JSC “Vladivostok International Airport” took part in the 22nd World Route Development Forum “World Routes 2016” held in Chengdu, China on September 24–27, 2016.

A delegation of Vladivostok airport held more than twenty meetings with representatives of airlines, airport and tourism authorities of China, Japan, Southeast Asian and other countries.

The airport repeatedly attends this event for several years to establish new business contacts and strengthen the existing ones. It was hosted by China this year, and airport representatives placed a focus on Chinese airlines in their meetings. Air carriers from China evaluate transport potential of Vladivostok airport as high and are interested in organizing regular air services and long-term cooperation. Such interest was revealed by many Chinese airlines planning flights with their citizens to Vladivostok.

- Due to unprecedented growth of incoming passenger flows from China to Vladivostok this year, our airport has placed its main focus on attracting carriers from China. Such prerequisites as 8-day visa-free access to Vladivostok, commissioning of new facilities in “Primorye” Gambling Area, growing welfare of people in China and other factors allow for prediction of continued rising demand for routes from China and, accordingly, growing interest of air carriers in Vladivostok airport, says Alexander Bobrov, Head of Commercial Department of JSC “VIA”.

It should be noted that relations with Chinese airlines have reached a new level. In particular, successful negotiations on development and expansion of air routes were held with China Eastern, Tianjin Airlines and Sichuan Airlines.

The World Route Development Forum is one of key worldwide aviation events attended by representatives of airports, airlines, suppliers, investors, international and regional associations, national tourism organizations and journalists.

The World Routes does not follow the format of traditional conferences or seminars. It is held in the form of pre-scheduled 20-minute-long business meetings opening up real opportunities for establishing new contacts and maintaining existing contacts in the world aviation industry.
