It is the first time Vladivostok Airport has handled 1.5 million passengers

On October 30, 2012 the one-and-a-half millionth passenger has been checked- in at Vladivostok Airport. The lucky traveler was Mr. A. Kondratiev heading for Incheon on flight KE 982 operated by Korean Airlines. Vladivostok Airport is expected to have handled over 1.6 million passengers by the end 2012.

Mr. M. Chetverikov, VIA director general  & CEO commented that ” it is the first time the KPI  of the company has reached  the rate of  1.5 million passengers. It means that our plan for  setting up a big air travel hub connecting the Russian Far East and Asia-Pacific countries. Is truly on the right track.

Vladivostok International Airport has been working actively on the route network expansion, attraction of air carriers and developing a  hub-and- spokes  system  since 2008. Thanks to these efforts the total passenger flow has increased practically twice as much within four years. As for international flights  it has grown up  to  2.5 times.  At  that   the South  Korean  destination  is developing most actively, currently the flight frequency from Vladivostok to Seoul has reached 21 flights per week.

Mr. M. Chetverikov,  director general  and CEO of VIA was  really pleased   to share the joy  of today's event with their reliable business partner Korean Airlines represented by Mr. Woo Sung Baek, Regional Manager. The air carrier has been steadily operating on flights from Vladivostok to Seoul since 1994 and making significant contribution to the air transportation development of the region. Beyond that Korean Airlines has become the first  airline -supporter  of  the  project “Open Skies” launching daily flights to Vladivostok.

At the end of the celebration event the lucky passenger  has been presented with the two return tickets to Guam, gifts and the airport Business lounge service card valid for a year. The lucky  ticket holder has left his thank- you- notes  in the  Corporate Welcome Book.
